Athletic Club have secured the signing of 17-year-old Spanish goalkeeper Darlington Osuchukwu from Manchester United’s academy, fitting their selective recruitment approach.
The player said in a post on Instagram that he felt honoured and proud to start a new chapter with Athletic, thanked his family for their support, and described this as only the beginning.

Born in Murcia to Nigerian parents, Osuchukwu developed in Navarre with Osasuna’s youth teams and Gazte Berriak.
His parents moved to England in 2020 and he joined Manchester United, where he was regarded as a long-term prospect at Old Trafford.
Athletic appear to have moved ahead of LOSC Lille, Anderlecht and Dortmund for his signature. He is a Spain Under-17 international and now heads to San Mamés.
