Athletic star Sancet called up for Roma showdown

Good news for Ernesto Valverde’s side ahead of the highly anticipated showdown with Roma.

Oihan Sancet appears to have recovered from the latest injury.

The player, who scored 13 goals in the league and is considered one of the key players in Valverde’s team, returned to training with the rest of the group today.

After more than a week of inactivity, Sancet completed individual training yesterday, but today the turning point came with his partial return to group activities.

As revealed by Athletic Club’s official squad list, Sancet has been called up for Thursday’s fixture against Roma.

According to Marca, however, it seems unlikely he will be on the pitch. Valverde himself has stressed that the player will not be risked, which is why he could limit himself to the bench in view of a possible use in the return match.
