Atlético Madrid star agrees new long-term contract | OneFootball

A leading member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Atlético Madrid has agreed on the terms of a new contract with the club.

That’s according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, citing the reliable Matteo Moretto, who point towards Pablo Barrios as the player in question.

Youngster Barrios has for his part spent the season to date building upon his reputation as a star in the making in Spain’s capital.

Still just 21 years of age, the Spaniard has racked up 32 starts between La Liga and the Champions League, chipping in with a goal and three assists along the way.

Barrios is at this point considered one of the first names on the team sheet of boss Diego Simeone, a testament to the midfielder’s quality and attitude alike.

In turn, it should come as little surprise to hear of Barrios’ excellence this week being rewarded.
