Aug 26 MLS Aces Power Rankings - Post Matchday 29 & Leagues Cup

I swear that I can’t keep track of which Matchday that Major League Soccer is on, especially now post Leagues Cup. But I swear, we are remaining in order from our last article titled “Post Matchday 27”. Anyway, outside of missing a Matchday somewhere (?) the MLS Aces Power Rankings articles are back!!! Leagues Cup 2024 was a ton of fun as well as seeing the return of Major League Soccer this past weekend. Matchday 29 gave us debuts, a ton of goals, and more insight into how the 2024 regular season is going to shape out. But let’s checkout the Top 10 after both this past MLS matchday AND Leagues Cup:1. The Top 10 has shifted up a bit from before Leagues Cup and the return to MLS action to now. Nine of the ten teams remained the same, with the Seattle Sounders replacing Charlotte FC as that final squad. However, the remaining nine squads have shifted around quite a bit. After a disappointing Leagues Cup and a draw in their return to MLS play, the Red Bulls have dropped out of the top three. The Colorado Rapids have raised from the number nine team up to a top five team after a 3rd place Leagues Cup finish. However, at this point of the season it truly feels like the Columbus Crew, LAFC, and Inter Miami have all secured their spots as the elite within Major League Soccer. They play the most pleasing soccer to the eye, make finals, dominate other teams, and ultimately win games. These are the squads that I will be watching down the stretch for a Supporters’ Shield and MLS Cup run. Here is how the rest of the rankings shape up:11. Austin FC
