It’s been heavily reported that Auston Trusty has suffered something of an injury scare whilst on international duty with the United States.
The towering Centre back limped off in dying stages of his country’s 2-0 defeat by Portugal at the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta Georgia, and despite nothing being confirmed over the reasoning for his withdrawal, it hasn’t stopped the SMSM stirring the pot.

Trusty who was praised for his performance against the all star Portuguese side, looked unaffected by his late withdrawal as he took part in post match media duties.
The former Arsenal and Sheffield United man who has been ordered off on two occasions this campaign, has been something of a conundrum since his £6 million move to Glasgow in the summer of 2024.
Despite his terrific strength and athleticism, the 27 year old has looked a little fragile at times in the rough and tumble of the Scottish game, but has put in a string of impressive performances in big European fixtures, as a well as the Glasgow derbies, in particular last month’s dramatic penalty shootout win in the Scottish Cup.

With his fellow countryman Cameron Carter Vickers stuck on the sidelines through injury, and Liam Scales, Dane Murray and Benjamin Arthur our only other options at Centre back, we need Auston to be fully fit for the remainder of the campaign.
With a tricky trip to Dens awaiting us on Easter Sunday, as well as a Scottish cup semi final date with St Mirren pending before five remaining split fixtures to negotiate, we will need our strongest squad available if we are to succeed in winning the two trophies on offer.

It seems to me that the full facts of Auston’s fitness could be nothing more than the Scottish mainstream media trying their best to pile more negative attention Celtic’s way.
The Celtic defender though has provided a positive update on social media responding to a Celtic support worried about a possible injury for the American international.
