Manchester City could find out their opponents for the quarter-finals of the 2025/26 Carabao Cup on Wednesday night as their fixture list further intensifies.
Pep Guardiola’s side entered the latest edition of the League Cup at the third round stage as per tradition, and faced an away trip to League One side Huddersfield Town at the Accu Stadium.
There would be no upset on the cards for City however, as Guardiola’s rotated squad put in a professional performance in West Yorkshire to cruise past Lee Grant’s side via a 0-2 scoreline thanks to goals from Phil Foden and Savinho either side of half-time.
The fourth round of the competition sees a step up in opponents for Manchester City, as they now face a test against Championship opposition and once again away from home, travelling to South Wales to take on Swansea City.
Pep Guardiola and his players will be looking to bounce back from disappointment at the weekend and a 1-0 defeat away to Aston Villa in the Premier League by advancing into the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup.
As for Alan Sheehan’s side, they come into this one off the back of a victory over Nottingham Forest in round three, and most recently a win over Norwich City at home in Championship action at the weekend.
