La Liga giants Barcelona have late this week agreed on the terms of a departure from the club’s first-team ranks.

The Blaugrana star primed to move on? Marc-André ter Stegen.

Goalkeeper Ter Stegen is of course fresh off a short-term loan spell away from parent club Barca. Sitting behind both Joan García and Wojciech Szczęsny in the pecking order between the posts in Hansi Flick’s squad, the German opted to link up with Girona for the 2nd half of the 2025/26 campaign.

And as alluded to above, as much now looks set to be followed by a 2nd successive loan for the Blaugrana’s former no.1

As per a report from market insider Fabrizio Romano, after weeks of negotiations between the parties, Ter Stegen is ready to put pen to paper on terms with Dutch heavyweights Ajax:

‘Marc André ter Stegen to Ajax, here we go! Deal agreed in principle with Barça and player’s camp. Ter Stegen joins on loan until the end of June 2027 with majority of wages covered by Ajax.’
