Barcelona and PSG lead the way as the only UCL teams unbeaten in 2025 | OneFootball

After a temporary blip in results at the end of last year, FC Barcelona are once again back to their best level since the start of 2025.

This upturn in their performances was rewarded as they returned to the top spot in La Liga following their 1-0 win against Rayo Vallecano last night.

But the Blaugranes have also been one of the best teams in Europe since the start of the new year, and this is quite clear from a report from Mundo Deportivo which notes that the Catalans, along with Paris Saint Germain, are the only two teams in the top five European leagues that are also competing for the UEFA Champions League and which have not yet lost any game this year.

As things stand, Barcelona have a record of 10 wins and 2 draws since the start of the year, which is clearly better than their top two rivals in Spain, i.e., Real Madrid (10 wins, 2 draws, 2 losses) and Atletico Madrid (7 wins, 3 draws, and 1 loss).

Luis Enrique’s Paris Saint Germain have an even better record than the Blaugranes, as they have won 11 games and drawn 1 in four different competitions since the turn of the year. Napoli are also undefeated in their 7 games this season, but they have played only in Serie A.

Other big teams like Liverpool, Arsenal, Juventus, and Inter Milan have all lost three games since the start of the year.

Barcelona have also played in four different competitions, and their two draws have come against Getafe in La Liga and against Atalanta in the UCL. Meanwhile, they have beaten the likes of Barbastro, Athletic Club, Real Madrid, Real Betis, Valencia, Deportivo Alavés, Sevilla, and Rayo Vallecano.

With these wins, they won the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia, beating Athletic Club and Real Madrid, finished 2nd in the UCL League Phase, qualified for the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey, and returned to the top spot in La Liga.
