Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has forwarded a message of well wishes the way of former Blaugrana boss Pep Guardiola.
This of course comes ahead of a long overdue break in the latter’s managerial career.
Guardiola is for his part fresh off making official his intention to depart Manchester City upon the close of the 2026/27 campaign.
With an FA Cup and League Cup double in the bag, the Spaniard is expected to take some well-earned time away from the game, after a decade in the dugout at The Etihad.
Across his stint in the Premier League, Guardiola racked up a remarkable 20 trophies, further solidifying his status as world football’s very best manager.
And as alluded to above, fresh off Pep’s announcement, another of the game’s standout tacticians has moved to make clear his appreciation for Guardiola’s talents.
Speaking during a press conference in Spain on Friday, Barcelona boss Hansi Flick explained:
“Pep is the best coach in the world, and he’s proven that over the past ten years, year after year.
“Even when things weren’t going well, he always knew how to handle the situation and manage it. He’s delivered exceptional work.
“When we talk about philosophy, and the way he conveys his ideas…his teams always play at the highest level, and he always finds solutions to be better than the competitors.
“And when you look at the number of titles he’s won, it’s exceptional. And I greatly appreciate that I know him personally, because he really is an amazing person.
“I wish him now to rest a little, and to take his time before returning, and I hope he does return, because he’s still young enough to do that.”
