Barcelona remain optimistic about the possibility of having Dani Olmo and Pau Victor available for a potential Spanish Super Cup final, according to a report from AS.

The club is currently waiting for the Higher Sports Council (CSD) to make a decision on their request to grant a precautionary measure, as this would allow the two players to be provisionally registered again and made eligible to play in the tournament.

The legal department of the CSD is carefully reviewing the documents submitted by Barcelona and despite the complexity of the situation, there is cautious optimism within the club that a favourable resolution will be reached.

The matter stems from the abrupt decision by La Liga to deregister both Olmo and Victor at the start of 2025, a move that left Barcelona scrambling to find a solution.

Now, the club is handling the situation with care, aware of how critical the outcome could be for their plans.

While earlier reports suggested that Barcelona are likely to secure the precautionary measure, the club is approaching the matter with prudence. However, there is hope that both Olmo and Victor will be available should the team advance to the final.

“We have to wait, but we are optimistic. We are confident that everything will be resolved well,” said the club source.

Internally, there is confidence that the situation will resolve in their favour, and the players will return to the squad soon.

Dani Olmo’s condition

It is said that Olmo, who faced initial frustration over the situation, is reportedly in better spirits now. “He’s fine, happy to be with the group and waiting for news, like everyone else.”

The optimism shared by club president Joan Laporta has lifted the mood around the camp. The coaching staff also remains hopeful, as Hansi Flick sees Olmo as a crucial part of the team and is eager to reintegrate him into the squad as soon as possible.

As the club awaits a decision, Barcelona continue to prepare for upcoming challenges with the hope that both players will soon be cleared to contribute on the pitch.
