A highly exciting summer awaits FC Barcelona fans as the Catalan side is intent to bring in several new reinforcements to strengthen their team ahead of the next season. After already having landed Anthony Gordon, the Blaugranes are now readying another big bid to land Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid. Other areas of the team, particularly the defense, can also see some new additions.

Beyond this transfer window activity, there is also the World Cup 2026, in which there are several Barcelona players participating with their respective national teams. After the end of the World Cup, these fans can start looking forward to the Blaugrana team’s preseason, for which plans are currently being finalized.

In a recent update on this matter, Mundo Deportivo reports that the team would undertake a training camp in Birmingham, during which they would also play two friendlies, one against Birmingham City and the other against either Watford or Stoke City.

However, regarding the friendlies after this preseason, the option of playing against River Plate at the Monumental in Buenos Aires is now ruled out. On the other hand, the option of playing in Rabat, Morocco remains on the table, as does the option to play against Liverpool in Nairobi, Kenya, especially as the Ebola threat as subsided in the latter’s case.

After that, the Joan Gamper Trophy would be played on Wednesday, 19th August, at the Camp Nou, while Barcelona’s league debut is set to take place on the weekend of 22-23rd August, as La Liga would allow the league to start a week later for teams whose player go far in the World Cup.

For now, these preseason plans are yet to be finalized, but all of these options would be quite exciting for Barcelona fans, especially those that are living in areas where the friendlies are set to be played.
