In this regard, one of the events that the Blaugrana fans have been waiting for quite some time is the conclusion of a new deal between Barcelona and Nike, which would provide a significant boost to the club’s finances.

Previously, it was expected that a final agreement would be reached between the two parties before the end of August. However, Lapora clarified in a recent presser that the two entities could have reached an agreement before the summer transfer window closed, but he preferred to wait to get a better deal.

The latest update on this operation has been provided by SPORT, which claims that the two sides are making good progress on this deal to renew their contract that currently goes till 2028. A meeting between the sportswear company and Barcelona took place on Tuesday, with Albert Baronet, Nike’s Marketing Director for Southern Europe, leading a delegation to the club’s offices.

For now, Barcelona are looking to close this deal before the end of the year. Thus, the months of October and November are crucial for the club, especially as this renewal can take the club back to the 1:1 status in the upcoming winter transfer window. Returning to this status is essential for Barcelona to retain Dani Olmo, who is currently registered only because of Andreas Christensen’s injury.

Reports mention that with this new deal, the Blaugrana club will receive around €90 million every year plus some variables. Furthermore, there would also be a €100 million renewal bonus. The duration of the contract is yet to be decided, with Barcelona preferring a 10-year contract while Nike is pushing for a 15-year contract.
