According to journalist David Bernabeu of SPORT, FC Barcelona have decided to maintain their strict economic boundaries regarding the pursuit of Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, firmly refusing to increase their existing transfer proposal.

Despite intense pushback from the capital and media speculation suggesting a potential increase in the transfer offer, the Catalan club’s hierarchy will hold its position on the current offer of €100 million which has already been tabled.

Dismissing the €120 million offer claims

The resolute stance comes directly on the heels of contradictory media updates surfacing in Spain.

Indeed, recent reports suggested that the reigning Spanish champions possessed the financial leeway to alter their approach.

However, the journalist has clarified that Barcelona’s administration has officially ruled out any such escalation.

The club’s board considers the €100 million figure to already be an exceptionally high financial commitment. Consequently, they will not be raising the baseline or matching the rumoured €120 million evaluation.
