Barcelona defender Andreas Christensen is close to making his long-awaited return to action.
In fact, according to a report by Javier Miguel in AS, the Denmark international could be cleared by medical staff as early as next week, with the possibility of being fit even before Lamine Yamal, who is likely to be fit for the Spanish Super Cup contest.
This news comes after Christensen has spent over four months recovering from an injury, which was the expected recovery time set by the club when he was initially sidelined.
Recently, Christensen took a significant step towards his return by rejoining his teammates in training.
The session, which followed a short Christmas break, was held in front of a large crowd of children who were excited to watch their heroes in action.

The Danish defender was fully involved in all of the drills under the guidance of coach Hansi Flick, which is a positive sign for both Christensen and the team.
Although he has not yet been given full medical clearance to compete in matches, his participation in training indicates that his return to the pitch is just around the corner.
The timing of his return could not be better for Barcelona, as the team is preparing for their Copa del Rey match against Barbastro in the round of 32.
With the stakes rising, this could be the ideal opportunity for Hansi Flick to give Christensen some much-needed minutes on the field before the team enters the crucial part of the season.
The return of the experienced defender will add depth to the squad, providing valuable options as Barcelona looks to compete on multiple fronts.
Fans will be hopeful that Christensen’s return will help strengthen the defence and contribute to the team’s success in the upcoming months.
