Tuesday night was a rather disappointing one for FC Barcelona as, despite scoring 4 goals, they were unable to get a win against Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final tie at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium.

The Colchoneros were able to grab a draw in the very last minutes of the game, as Alexander Sorloth once again scored late to keep his side on equal terms ahead of the second leg.

His goal made the Blaugranes rue their missed chances even more, and two such chances were missed by Ferran Torres in the first half.

First, on the 11th minute, he got in a good one-on-one situation against the goalkeeper, but came out the loser as Musso was able to save his weak shot. Then, a few minutes before the half-time break, he deflected the goalkeeper but was unable to put the ball in an empty net.

These misses can come to haunt Barcelona in the second leg, but the winger himself was quite livid for missing these good chances. As MARCA has reported, this was clear from a social media post that he made after the game, as he wrote:

“This is one of those matches where you feel like you’ve given everything, but the result isn’t what you expected. All of us, myself included, with those two chances, will have the opportunity to finish the job in the second leg. Until then, we must stay fully focused on La Liga and the Champions League. Let’s go! 💙❤️”

The former Manchester City forward accompanied this text with two of his photos from the game. What made these two misses confounding was the fact that Torres has been one of the most effective players for his side this season, and despite not being a regular starter, is the third-highest scorer in the team.
