The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona are increasingly hopeful of securing a considerable financial windfall during the winter transfer window.
This comes as Mika Mármol continues to inch ever closer to the exit door at Las Palmas.
Defender Mármol, for his part, has reemerged as one of the standout performers in all of La Liga over recent weeks, looking back to his best in the colours of Las Palmas.
Ahead of the expiration of the 23-year-old’s contract in Gran Canaria in the summer of 2026, a number of clubs from across Spain and Europe alike have in turn begun expressing a keen interest in his signature.
The likes of Sevilla, Real Betis, Girona and AS Roma are all understood to be keen on Mármol.
And keeping a close eye on the situation, as alluded to above, is the board at another of La Liga’s leading clubs.
Barcelona sold Mármol to Las Palmas in the summer of 2023, for a cut-price fee. And, as part of the agreement between the sides, the Blaugrana secured for themselves a 50% sell-on clause.
With El Pio-Pio considered as increasingly likely to sanction a sale as early as January, Barca, according to Sport, are therefore ‘impatiently awaiting’ what would likely be a cash injection in the region of €5 million.
