Having spent the last season away from FC Barcelona, on loan with AS Monaco, Ansu Fati is once again facing uncertainty regarding his future.

For now, the Spanish forward is waiting to see whether the Ligue 1 side decides to activate the €11 million purchase option included in his deal, but the player himself is also expected to have an important say in the final decision.

Even though Ansu’s dream remains to succeed at Barcelona, a return to the Catalan team looks highly unlikely for now, especially as he is not believed to be part of Hansi Flick’s plans heading into next season.

Meanwhile, the forward’s demand is already starting to rise again after he ended the campaign on a positive note with Monaco. As a result, SPORT reports that Sevilla are one of the clubs keeping an eye on his situation, particularly amid the possibility of a new project being led by Sergio Ramos and the Five Eleven Capital group.

The links between both parties gained even more attention after Ansu was spotted in the stands during Sevilla’s match against Celta Vigo at Balaídos. While the visit was mainly linked to supporting his close friend Ilaix Moriba, the images quickly sparked rumours surrounding a possible move to the Andalusian side.

For now, however, Sevilla’s situation remains uncertain. Sergio Ramos and his group are still working to complete the takeover operation, with guarantees expected to be presented in the coming days as they look to move forward with the project and inject fresh investment into the club.

Still, Ansu Fati is seen as a player who could become one of the faces of this new Sevilla project if the ownership change eventually goes through. The emotional connection between the player and the club also remains strong, especially considering that he spent part of his youth career in Sevilla’s academy before making the move to La Masia.

In fact, Ansu’s father, Bori Fati, had already admitted in the past that a return to Sevilla could be a good option for his son.

However, several things would still need to happen before such a move becomes possible. Ansu would first have to decide against continuing at Monaco if the French side activates their purchase option, while Barcelona and Sevilla would also need to reach an agreement over financial terms similar to the ones Monaco were prepared to assume.

At the same time, relations between Barcelona and Sevilla have remained strained in recent years, although the possible ownership change at the Andalusian club could help reopen the door to smoother negotiations again.

For now, Ansu’s future remains completely open, but his appearance at Sevilla’s match has already fuelled excitement among the club’s supporters, with many now closely watching how the situation develops over the coming weeks.
