FC Barcelona have been looking to reinforce their attacking line, the left wing to be more precise, for quite some time now. Last summer, they were linked very strongly with the Athletic Club forward Nico Williams, but ultimately were unable to land him.
However, their task of getting reinforcement for this position will be significantly eased by the fact that they have returned to the 1:1 status, and they continue to be linked with several prominent names for this purpose.
One such name that has been linked with the Blaugrana club for quite some time now is the Liverpool forward Luis Diaz, who is having a good season in England and has already scored 12 goals and provided 3 assists in 27 games this season.
As SPORT has noted, the latest reports on the forward from his native country of Colombia suggest that he is going to be a Barcelona player after the end of this season, and the Blaugranes have already communicated to the Merseyside club their desire to put in a significant offer for his signing once this season ends.
Meanwhile, the player himself has also told Liverpool that he wants to bring an end to his time at the club and at the Premier League and to start a new adventure at Barcelona next season.
In the last few months, Liverpool and Diaz have been engaged in rather timid negotiations for a contract renewal. The positions of the two parties are quite far away, and everything suggests that the winger will be put on the market next summer.
The Blaugrana President Joan Laporta is also in favor of this signing and will be willing to put in an offer of up to €70 million. This sum should be more than enough to convince Liverpool to part ways with a winger whose future in their team is far from certain anyway.
