Marc Casado’s future at Barcelona is beginning to look increasingly uncertain. 

Once seen as a promising option in midfield, the youngster has found opportunities limited under manager Hansi Flick, prompting a potential change in direction ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the midfielder is now open to assessing his options, which is a shift from his stance in previous windows. 

Notably, he had previously resisted the idea of leaving, but his reduced role in the squad has led to a more practical outlook regarding his future.

With competition for places in midfield intensifying, Casado has struggled to secure consistent minutes. 

Barcelona’s depth in that area has effectively pushed him down the pecking order, making it increasingly difficult for him to establish himself as a regular contributor.

What about Barcelona?

As far as Barcelona are concerned, a decision will need to be made in the next few weeks. 

As per the outlet, the Blaugrana are weighing up whether a loan move would be more beneficial for his development or whether a permanent transfer would be the more logical step, particularly if a strong offer arrives.

In that sense, the reported valuation stands at around €30 million.

Interest is already building, as there has been significant attention from clubs in Saudi Arabia, where financial muscle makes such a deal feasible. 

At the same time, there are other creative possibilities being explored.

How is that?

One such scenario could involve Joao Cancelo. Barcelona are keen to secure the full-back on a permanent basis. 

However, negotiations are not straightforward, given his contractual situation. 

Including Casado as part of a deal could provide a solution that benefits all parties involved.

As things stand, the situation remains open-ended. What is clear, though, is that Casado’s position has evolved. 

With playing time limited and competition fierce, he is now prepared to listen to offers, setting the stage for what could be his final months at the club.
