Barcelona midfielder reveals the one Real Madrid player he would steal for his club | OneFootball

The signing of Kylian Mbappe by Real Madrid was met with instant fear cropping up across Europe over the strength of the Merengues.

After all, he is one of the best players on the planet and the idea of him linking up with players in Real Madrid’s dressing room was terrifying.

In particular, it was the Vinicius Jr.-Mbappe dynamic that was seen as a major weapon for Real Madrid on the counter, for both players boast of searing pace and great finishing.

While the combination may not have worked out as well as initially anticipated so far, it is clear that the duo are getting better as a unit with every passing day.

Barcelona midfielder’s thoughts

Speaking to El Hormiguero in a recent interaction, Barcelona superstar and Spanish national team mainstay Pedri Gonzalez was asked which Real Madrid player he would sign for the Catalans if given the chance.

Instantly, he prompted his club teammate Ferran Torres, seated next to hi,m and the duo reached an instant agreement saying, “Yes, Mbappe.”

He was then asked to name a player he would not like to face in a speed duel on the field, to which he again named two Real Madrid stars.

“A player I don’t want to face in a speed duel? Almost everyone, I’m a bit slow.”

“Mbappe, Vinicius. Yeah, when the ball reaches Vinícius Junior, all you can do is pray. He runs three times faster than me,” he added.

In the first Clasico of the season, the duo gave Barcelona and Pedri a serious run for their money and created numerous counter-attacking chances with the midfielder even seeing a red card late in the game.

When they faced off in the final of the Spanish Super Cup, however, Pedri and Barcelona dominated the possession and chance-creation, handing Real Madrid barely any of the ball to achieve anything productive.

What is clear, however, is that Barcelona players clearly know how Mbappe and Vinicius’ pace can leave them exposed on the field, especially given their style of play.
