Ahead of their UEFA Champions League opener against AS Monaco, Barcelona suffered a blow. The table-topping La Liga side will be without Dani Olmo for the fixture at the Stade Louis II on Thursday night.
Hansi Flick will therefore have to pick a replacement for the Spanish playmaker. Questioned who that replacement may be, during a press conference attended by Get Football journalist Luke Entwistle, Monaco manager Adi Hütter revealed who he believes will replace Olmo in Barcelona’s starting XI.
“I know Olmo since his days at Dinamo Zagreb. He is a fantastic player; a top player in Europe. I also know him from the Bundesliga when he was playing at RB Leipzig. I don’t know if it is good luck [that he is absent]. Ferran Torres is also in the Spanish national team and a good replacement. I think Torres can be the replacement. We are expecting it to be him,” said Hütter. Time will tell if he is correct.
