FC Barcelona are looking to offload certain players before the end of the transfer window. Such players are either surplus to requirements at the club or simply want to leave for better opportunities. One player who falls under this category is Inaki Pena.
However, despite it being clear enough that the club wishes to offload him and that he wants to leave, his departure is yet to be completed. The reason for this, as per a recent report, has something to do with the plans of his suitors.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the interested clubs are currently looking to offload their own current players before they can sign Pena. Either due to needing to make room for a new goalkeeper or to simply ease the registration process, each club seems to have their own respective reasoning.
However, this is not a major cause for concern over at Barça. The Catalan club, and the player for that matter, are hopeful that his exit will be facilitated soon enough, especially considering that the player is even open to renewing his contract for another year with Barça to facilitate his exit this summer.
For now, interested clubs include the likes of Celta Vigo, Como, Galatasaray, and Girona as well. Fortunately, MD reports that the resolution concerning the player’s future should arrive by next week, rather than be delayed until the very end of the transfer window.
Once his departure is finalised, Barça can then look to register Wojciech Szczesny as well, something that is a priority for the Catalan side. Until then, and especially for the upcoming game against Levante, it is expected that Pena will be the alternative option to Joan Garcia in the squad for the game.
