Among other areas of the FC Barcelona team, one position that can see some changes this summer is the left-back position. Joao Cancelo’s loan period with the Catalan club is going to end on 30th June, and they have still not arrived at an agreement with Al-Hilal for his continued presence in their team, while the future of Alejandro Balde is also not too certain at the moment.

The Blaugranes are being linked with some high-profile alternatives in case the Spaniard ends up leaving. Meanwhile, they have already come close to signing a highly promising youngster for this position, i.e., the Racing Club fullback, Jorge Salinas.

Some recent reports have claimed that the defender has already signed for Barcelona. However, Mundo Deportivo ensures that this is not yet the case, and goes on claim that the Blaugranes would not sign him for any price, and would not pay more than €4 million for him.

There is some confusion about the player’s release clause. His youth contract, with the number 32, puts his release clause at €4 million, which the Catalans are looking to pay. However, this amount would be doubled to €8 million with Racing Club’s promotion to the first division.

Meanwhile, sources from the Santander club go on to claim that the player’s release clause is set to go up to €16 million after July 1st, and this is what they expect to get for their defender.

In such a context, Barcelona are clear that they will not enter any bidding wars for the fullback, as other notable European clubs, including Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, Bologna, and Newcastle United are also interested in the player, while PSG has also been linked with him.
