Barcelona could soon find themselves watching from a distance as Junior Eli Kroupi’s value continues to rise, with several Premier League clubs intensifying their interest in one of Europe’s most exciting young forwards.

The French attacker has emerged as one of the names being considered as Barça assess alternatives to Julian Alvarez, but developments in recent weeks suggest any deal could become increasingly difficult to execute.

According to SPORT, Kroupi’s impressive breakthrough campaign at Bournemouth has attracted the attention of some of England’s biggest clubs, turning what looked like a long-term opportunity into a potentially unattainable operation.

Premier League interest threatens Barcelona’s plans

Barcelona’s scouting reports on the 20-year-old are believed to be highly encouraging. 

Within the club, Kroupi is viewed as a player with enormous upside, possessing the technical quality, mobility and goalscoring instinct required to thrive at the highest level.

However, there is also recognition that signing a player at this stage of his career carries an element of risk, particularly if his valuation continues to climb.

On that note, PSG have already explored the situation in recent weeks, while Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have all kept a close eye on his progress following his emergence in the Premier League.

The biggest development, though, concerns Tottenham.

Reports indicate Spurs, who have been extremely active in the transfer market, are preparing an offer worth around €100 million, a figure that could dramatically alter Bournemouth’s stance despite the club’s insistence that Kroupi is not for sale.

Such a proposal would be difficult for most clubs to ignore, putting a major dent in Barcelona’s scouting.

For now, Barcelona remain fully focused on their pursuit of Julian Alvarez.

The Argentine continues to be regarded as the club’s preferred target, which explains why there have been no formal negotiations for Kroupi despite the positive internal assessments.

The Catalans are aware that the market can evolve rapidly, especially when Premier League clubs become involved.

Their financial power often pushes valuations into territory that is difficult for clubs outside England to match, and Barcelona have little appetite for entering bidding wars at those levels.

Should Tottenham formalise their reported offer, it would likely place Kroupi beyond Barça’s reach.
