Barcelona have made a firm decision regarding Alejandro Balde’s future as speculation surrounding the defender continues to gather pace ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan giants are not actively looking to part ways with the Spanish full-back despite increasing interest from several clubs across Europe.

While Balde’s role in the team has come under scrutiny following a difficult season, the club’s position remains unchanged for now.

Barcelona still view the academy graduate as part of their long-term project and have no plans to place him on the transfer market.

Notably, the outlet mentions that any potential departure would only become a realistic possibility if the player himself expressed a desire to leave and arrived with a concrete offer.

The 2025/26 season did not go as Balde would have hoped, as competition for places became increasingly difficult in the second half and his position in the squad was no longer as secure as it once appeared.

Notably, Joao Cancelo has moved ahead of the Spaniard in Hansi Flick’s pecking order, limiting Balde’s opportunities to establish himself as the undisputed first-choice left-back.

Despite that situation, Barcelona have not lost faith in the 22-year-old. Rather, there remains confidence that Balde can still play an important role under Flick moving forward.

Importantly, with a deal running until 2028, Barcelona are under no immediate pressure to negotiate a renewal or consider a sale.

Premier League giants monitoring

Although Barcelona are not pushing Balde towards the exit door, interest from abroad continues to grow.

As reported before, several clubs are closely following developments, particularly in the Premier League.

Both Manchester clubs are believed to be among the strongest admirers of the Spanish international and could potentially submit offers capable of testing Barcelona’s resolve.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa are also keeping a close watch on the defender as they look to strengthen their squad following another successful campaign.

Furthermore, Inter Milan are monitoring the situation and remain alert should an opportunity arise to enter the race for his signature.

However, all interested clubs know that Barcelona are not actively negotiating a transfer unless Balde himself signals a desire to move on.
