Barcelona set sights on deal for AFCON star | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona are considering a move for Gent star Samuel Kotto.

This comes amid the understanding that the Blaugrana have had their attentions piqued by the 22-year-old’s performances at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Kotto is currently playing his part at African football’s biggest international tournament, with Cameroon.

The talented defender has been afforded starts in both of his country’s fixtures to date, at the heart of defence.

And along the way, Kotto’s impressive form is understood to have turned the heads of those in the boardroom at the aforementioned Barcelona.

As per a report from Fichajes:

‘Samuel Kotto has sparked considerable interest from Barcelona’s sporting management. His ability to adapt to different defensive roles makes him a very interesting option to complete the defensive rotation.’

Kotto, who is capable of taking to the pitch in either a central role or at full-back, is appreciated by Deco and co. for all of his versatility, composure and tactical awareness.
