The FC Barcelona infirmary is slowly thinning out, as players continue to recover from their respective injuries. Most recently, important pieces like Pedri and Raphinha have returned to availability for Hansi Flick.
The midfielder Frenkie de Jong recently suffered an injury, but before him, it was only Gavi and Andreas Christensen who were left with long-term injuries.
In fact, the 21-year-old Spaniard is now showing significant progress in his recovery. He has begun participating in select group training sessions while alternating with individual rehabilitation, both on the pitch and in the gym, following a detailed program tailored to his needs.
At the time of his injury, for which he had to undergo surgery in September, Gavi was expected to remain on the sidelines for up to four to five months. This time has already passed, his recovery is going well, and the player is also eager to return to the pitch.
However, the club is carefully managing his enthusiasm to avoid any setbacks, given his history of multiple serious injuries in recent seasons.
According to MARCA, Barcelona are already working with a tentative return date, aiming for him to rejoin the squad within two weeks, potentially allowing him a few minutes on the pitch before the international break.
This plan is flexible and adjusted daily according to his progress. Once he returns, Gavi’s reintegration into the team will be gradual, with his minutes managed carefully by Hansi Flick to prevent overloading him.
