The January transfer window will give Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim his first chance to shape the squad in line with his vision. However, the biggest changes are expected next summer, with Amorim reportedly eyeing a potential signing from Paris Saint-Germain.
United’s acquisition of Manuel Ugarte from PSG last summer has proven successful, with the midfielder thriving under Amorim’s leadership. Now, the Portuguese manager is said to be targeting a reunion with Nuno Mendes, a player he worked with at Sporting Lisbon.
According to CaughtOffside, Manchester United remains highly interested in Mendes, who is reportedly intrigued by the move after conversations with his representatives.
If the 22-year-old doesn’t secure a contract extension at PSG, the club could be open to offers of around €70 million during the summer window.

Journalist Matteo Moretto reports that PSG are closely monitoring Barcelona’s Alejandro Balde ahead of the summer should Mendes depart.
The 21-year-old, whose contract with Barcelona runs until 2028, has a transfer value of €50 million, according to Transfermarkt. So far this season, Balde has made 22 appearances in all competitions, contributing four assists.
