Barcelona star ‘hopes’ Euro 2024 clash will be Toni Kroos’ last in football | OneFootball

A leading member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Thursday admitted that he hopes that the iconic playing career of Toni Kroos will come to an official end on Friday.

As much, of course, comes as Kroos prepares to take to the pitch on the international stage once more.

The veteran midfielder is set to lead Germany into action in just shy of 24 hours’ time, when Die Mannschaft lock horns with Spain for a place in the quarter-finals of Euro 2024.

Should Kroos be condemned to defeat in the clash, it will mark his very last in football, at any capacity.

This comes with the 34-year-old having come to the decision to hang up his boots come the conclusion of his country’s latest Euros campaign.

Speaking during an interview with Radio Marca on Thursday, the subject of as much, in turn, was put to Barcelona star Pedri.

And though the Spanish international, who will go head-to-head with Kroos on the pitch on Friday, was quick to label his German counterpart a ‘legend’, Pedri also understandably admitted that:

“I hope it’s his last game…”
