A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has secured a nomination for Player of the Week in the Champions League.

The player in question? Marcus Rashford.

Wide-man Rashford is for his part of course fresh off an evening to remember on Thursday.

At last providing Barcelona’s supporters with a glimpse into his unquestionable talents when firing on all cylinders, the Englishman clinched Man of the Match honours in a 2-1 Champions League triumph at Newcastle United.

As much came owing to a brilliant brace, a fine header followed by a stunning strike from distance at St. James’ Park.

And as alluded to above, with the dust having now settled on the action on Tyneside, Rashford’s efforts have been aptly recognised.

As announced across UEFA’s social media platforms, the on-loan Manchester United man has been nominated for the Champions League Player of the Week award.

Rashford is joined on the shortlist by Dušan Vlahović (Juventus), Marcus Thuram (Inter Milan) and Francisco Trincão (Sporting CP).
