A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona kept alive a remarkable individual streak in the club’s latest outing.

The player in question? Eric García.

Stopper Eric was for his part in from the off for the latest occasion on Tuesday night.

This came as Barcelona made the trip to minnows Guadalajara, for the opening fixture of their Copa del Rey campaign.

When all was said and done in a surprisingly hard-fought affair, the Blaugrana emerged on the right side of a 2-0 result, to book their spot in the competition’s Last-16.

And whilst it was Andreas Christensen and Marcus Rashford who notched the goals, the aforementioned Eric was busy keeping alive nothing short of an amazing streak.

The former Manchester City man is the only member of Hansi Flick’s squad to have played at least some part in every one of Barcelona’s matches this season.

All told, Eric has now racked up 24 appearances between La Liga, the Champions League and Copa del Rey.
