Leading figures from the first-team ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona will be forced to do battle at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
This comes fresh off the draw for the tournament’s group stages being made official.
Luis de la Fuente’s Spain will of course make the trip to North America next summer with the label of favourites to all the way on the part of many.
To kickstart efforts towards as much, though, La Roja on Friday discovered which countries they will be forced to contend with in the group stage.
Spain have been drawn in Group H, alongside Uruguay, Saudi Arabia, and Cabo Verde.
It is the presence of Uruguay, though, which means that Barcelona ties will need to be put to one side at the World Cup.
Spain are of course expected to call upon a whole host of Blaugrana stars for the tournament, with Pedri, Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsí just a few.
And upon facing off against the Celeste, these players will reunite with a long-time teammate at club level, in the form of Ronald Araújo.
