FC Bayern Munich have been heavily linked with a move for Anthony Gordon, with reports suggesting they are already in agreement with the player and now in talks with his club, Newcastle United.

However, according to a report from Mundo Deportivo, the German champions are not in pole position for the England international, with FC Barcelona instead leading the race.

The report claims Gordon prefers a move to the Catalan club and is keen to join Barcelona’s project.

It's reported that Barcelona sporting director Deco has initiated talks with Newcastle while also working to convince Gordon to make the switch to Catalonia.

The main stumbling block for both Bayern and Barcelona is Newcastle’s asking price of up to €80 million, which is considered too high for both clubs.
