Andreas Schjelderup’s rise has made him one of Benfica’s most valuable assets, with the club hopeful of a significant windfall amid mounting interest.
Record writes that Benfica’s hierarchy, led by Rui Costa, are encouraged by the 21-year-old winger’s progress and are tracking strong interest from leading European leagues, including Barcelona. In Catalonia, Sport reports that Barcelona are impressed and are considering a move. Record also notes that Costa would be open to a highly profitable deal, though no figures were given.
Schjelderup has a release clause set at €100 million.
The Norway international is valued at €14 million and his performances have generated headlines in Spain.
This season for Benfica he has made 36 competitive appearances, 21 in Liga Portugal Betclic, 10 in the Champions League, four in the Taça de Portugal and one in the Taça da Liga. Across 2,014 minutes he has recorded seven goals and four assists.
