Barcelona ‘working on’ summer move for Alessandro Bastoni | OneFootball

Barcelona have set about their summer planning after resolving their hierarchy, with a top-class centre-back the priority.

Sport reports that Alessandro Bastoni is their preferred option and that Inter are open to hearing offers, with Barcelona already working on a deal for the 26-year-old.

Deco and Hansi Flick are aligned on Bastoni and want a profile akin to Inigo Martinez, whose departure for Al-Nassr in August has been felt.

Barcelona hope to agree personal terms in the coming weeks, before talks with Inter to establish an asking price. Fabrizio Romano has reported that Inter have not yet set a valuation despite recent speculation.

Bastoni would represent a headline signing, but any demand north of €70-80m could be beyond Barcelona if they remain outside La Liga’s 1:1 rule. A return to that rule before season’s end would improve their chances.
