Barcelona midfielder Pedri is making what Spanish media are calling "a miraculous recovery" from the thigh injury he sustained during the Clasico defeat to Real Madrid and could return far sooner than initially planned.

Pedri picked up left thigh muscle injury during the 2-1 loss at the Santiago Bernabeu with early estimates suggesting he would not rejoin group training until mid December targeting competitive return on 21 December vs Villarreal.

However according to Diario AS, the 21 year old has made "huge progress" in his rehabilitation responding better than expected to treatment.

The report states that Pedri may receive limited minutes as early as 22 Nov when Barca face Athletic Bilbao immediately after the international break.

Despite the accelerated timeline, Barcelona’s medical & technical staff refuse to take unnecessary risks. The club have suffered several setbacks with Pedri in recent years and manager Hansi Flick is determined to avoid any relapse.

AS also suggests that Pedri could travel with the squad to London for the crucial Champions League clash against Chelsea though his participation will depend entirely on whether he gets the green light from doctors in the days leading up to the trip.
