The first day of action for the Rossoneri during the final international window of the 2025/26 season. As well as the World Cup 2026 playoff matches, there were also several friendlies played ahead of the global tournament, which will kick off in June in the United States, Canada and Mexico. One of the highlights was the match between France and Brazil in Boston, which featured several Rossoneri, including Mike Maignan and Adrien Rabiot, who played the full 90 minutes. The match ended 2-1 to the French team thanks to goals from Mbappé and Ekitike, while Bremer scored for Ancelotti's side. Another friendly saw Colombia face Croatia, with Luka Modrić coming on in the 80th minute, in the 2-1 victory over Colombia in Orlando. This game marked the Rossoneri number 14's 195th appearance for Croatia, an all-time record.

Davide Bartesaghi was also on international duty as he produced a spectacular performance in Italy Under-21's 4-0 victory over North Macedonia in the qualifiers for the 2027 European Championship. The young Rossoneri defender made an impact during the game in Empoli by providing the assists for the team's first two goals (Ndour in the fourth minute and Lipani in the 49th). This game marked his fifth appearance with the Azzurrini. David Odogu also got valuable minutes in the legs as he came on in the second half of the Under-20 Elite League match between Germany and the Czech Republic, which the German side won 2-1.
