Bayern Munich were crowned Bundesliga champions for a record-extending 35th time after coming from behind to beat Stuttgart 4-2 at the Allianz Arena, sealing the title with four matches still remaining.
After Borussia Dortmund’s defeat to Hoffenheim on Saturday, Vincent Kompany’s side knew a point would be enough to confirm the title. However, they ensured there was no doubt with a dominant second-half display to wrap up the title in style.
Stuttgart initially threatened to delay the celebrations. The visitors took a surprise lead in the 21st minute when Chris Führich latched onto a perfectly weighted pass from Bilal El Khannouss and finished calmly into the bottom corner.
Bayern, though, responded with trademark intensity. Within ten minutes, Jamal Musiala drove through midfield before laying the ball off for Raphaël Guerreiro to tap in the equaliser. The turnaround was completed just two minutes later when Luis Díaz set up Nicolas Jackson for a simple finish from close range.
The hosts quickly extended their advantage before half-time, as Alphonso Davies’ deflected strike from distance left Alexander Nübel helpless, sending Bayern into the break firmly in control at 3-1.
Harry Kane, introduced after the interval alongside Michael Olise, made an immediate impact. The England captain reacted quickest in the box to bundle home a rebound in the 52nd minute, effectively ending the contest and confirming Bayern as champions once again.
Stuttgart did manage a late consolation through Chema Andrés, who struck brilliantly from distance in the closing stages, but it did little to dampen the celebrations.
As the final whistle blew, Bayern’s players and supporters celebrated another dominant domestic campaign under Kompany, with attention now shifting towards cup and European ambitions.
