Bayern have added a late pre-season friendly at Heidenheim, four days before meeting Borussia Dortmund in the Franz Beckenbauer Super Cup.

According to BuLi News, the clubs confirmed the plan on Wednesday after weeks of discussion, with the game set after Heidenheim’s first two second-tier fixtures.

The match will be played at Voith-Arena, where Bayern lost 3-2 on their first visit before winning 4-0 in each of the last two seasons.

Bayern have travelled to Hong Kong for the second leg of their Asian tour after a 2-1 win over Jeju SK in South Korea on Tuesday. Vincent Kompany’s team face Europa League winners Aston Villa on Friday, then host RB Leipzig before concluding preparations against last season’s 17th-placed Bundesliga side.

Kick-off in Heidenheim is at 6pm local time on 18 August.
