Some big moves are expected in the summer transfer window, and FC Barcelona remains in the conversation for that. However, the Catalan giants are quite restricted due to their financial situation. Still, Barcelona continues to assess their options this summer.

At the moment, it is expected that the club will look to offload players for now and focus on urgent exits. Once that is taken care of, La Blaugrana could turn their attention back towards the pursuit of a new left-winger, something that looks to be delayed for now.

However, other clubs will definitely not be waiting for the Catalan giants to make a move. In fact, one of the key targets for Barça this summer is Colombian winger Luis Diaz, and it seems that one of his other suitors has already taken a rather big step towards cementing their stance.

According to The Athletic, German giants Bayern Munich have submitted a formal proposal to sign the winger this summer. Their offer was reportedly worth around €67.5 million, but it was immediately rejected by Premier League side Liverpool.

In fact, the report claims that the English side values him at above €100 million, and while it is said that this is primarily for accounting purposes, it still showcases the club’s unwillingness to let him go for a lower fee. Even with a strong €67.5 million offer from Bayern, it was easy for Liverpool to dismiss it.

On the other hand, The Athletic also highlights that this was an easy offer for the English side to dismiss due to it being far away from their actual valuation for the player. In fact, an offer in the range of €80 million would be much harder for Liverpool to ignore when it comes to the player wanted by both Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona.

For now, the stance of the English club remains clear when it comes to Diaz’s future. They consider him a key component of Arne Slot’s system and he is an important piece of the puzzle for his plans for next season. However, with both Barcelona and Bayern knocking, it might not be easy to curb the player’s own interest either.

Barcelona have another option to assess as well

Moreover, with the player now being 28 years old, he is not exactly off the table completely. A more competitive offer could be tempting for Liverpool, and it seems clear enough that the Colombian winger would be open to joining the likes of Barcelona and Bayern Munich this summer.

As for the Catalan giants, they do not seem to be in a position to rush any offers or make a bid of that level just yet. In fact, a more feasible target for them remains Marcus Rashford, who is having his own share of issues with Manchester United at the moment.
