Marcus Rashford was the chosen one to provide depth to Barcelona’s left wing this season and has done well to cover in Raphinha’s prolonged absences through injury.
There is, however, uncertainty over whether the Englishman will stay at the club next season, especially given how the Catalans consider the €30 million price tag to be excessive.
Barcelona, thus, are on the lookout for potential alternative signings as well. While finances are one of the factors, they are keeping an eye out for profiles available in all brackets and wish to sign a player who aligns with Hansi Flick’s ideas.
Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon, on that front, is one of the players who has been widely linked as a target for Barcelona and the Catalans are said to hold great regard for the Englishman’s talent.

As reported by SPORT, Barcelona are indeed keeping an eye out for the winger and they value his ability to attack spaces, aggression in the press, and his ability to create an impact in 1v1 situations.
They are, however, not alone in the race as Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool have all been linked with the player. The Bavarians, in particular, are looking to get ahead in the race.
Bayern Munich have already begun negotiations with Newcastle United to try to close the signing of the player this summer. They see it as a priority signing and believe he can be a differential piece in their puzzle.
As it stands, however, a financial agreement appears distant as Bayern Munich see the quoted £75 million price tag to be excessive. Negotiations have just begun, and it remains to be seen if Barcelona join in on the aggressive.
