The Athletic reports that João Palhinha is set to have his medical ahead of completing a loan move to Tottenham.
Palhinha will have his medical in Germany, with Tottenham currently in Hong Kong for pre-season, ahead of his move back to the Premier League.
The 30-year-old joined Bayern last summer for €51m after the club failed to sign him two summers ago from Fulham. However, Thomas Tuchel, who wanted to sign Palhinha, was no longer at the club, and new head coach Vincent Kompany used the Portuguese international sparingly.
An injury at the front end of last season did not help, but Palhinha only made 10 starts for Bayern, totalling 986 minutes across 25 appearances.
The fact that Bayern went ahead with the €51m move for the 30-year-old, mainly due to goodwill, does show the current state that the club is in at the moment. The failed move for the midfielder will likely approach the transfer of Sadio Mané in terms of failures.
Other departures from Bayern this summer are Thomas Müller, who is set to join Vancouver Whitecaps in the MLS, as well as fringe players Adam Aznou to Everton, and Bryan Zaragoza has joined Celta Vigo.
