FC Bayern Munich celebrated a spectacular victory against Real Madrid on Wednesday evening, winning 4-3 to advance to the semi-finals with a special side effect
It was hard work to beat the Whites in the Allianz Arena, and Bayern made life unnecessarily difficult for themselves in the process. A mistake by Manuel Neuer after just 35 seconds gave the Whites the lead through Arda Güler, who reacted perfectly
Neuer described his pass into the feet of the Real star as a „pig’s ball“ and did not look ideal when the score was 1-2. It was preceded by a swing by Brahim Diaz, which Slavko Vincic fell for. But Bayern showed morale, fought their way back, overturned three deficits and won 4-3
Bayern’s victory was not only essential for morale, it also means that the „Real trauma“ has finally been overcome. It was close, but there is a lot to take from this game. The win is also good for the Bundesliga, which can now have more hope of an additional Champions League place

The victory also has another positive effect: FC Bayern has overtaken Real Madrid in the UEFA 5-year rankings and now leads them. The record champions are in first place with a coefficient of 146.500. Real Madrid follow with 144.500. Liverpool, Inter, PSG, Manchester City, Arsenal, FC Barcelona, Bayer Leverkusen and Atlético Madrid are in the other places. Bayern can also extend its lead if the upcoming games are also successful
They face PSG in the semi-finals of the premier class, with the first leg taking place in Paris in two weeks‘ time. After the Real victory, however, it is clear that Bayern are well prepared.
