Luis Diaz’s transfer to FC Bayern in the summer of 2025 can certainly be considered a coup. The Colombian made an immediate impact in his first season and took the team’s offensive play to a new level. This has now sparked interest from other clubs.
Diaz hasn’t started training with FC Bayern yet because he’s still on vacation following the 2026 World Cup. Nevertheless, the rumor mill is already churning, as reports suggest there is significant interest from Saudi Arabia.
Gianluigi Longari, a journalist for TV Dello Sport, reports that Al-Hilal, following its coup in signing Crysencio Summerville from West Ham, is planning another major deal for its attack—specifically involving Luis Diaz.
There are also other sources claiming that Al-Hilal is in the running. According to Sacha Tavolieri, the Saudi Arabian club is willing to offer around 25 million euros in net salary to convince the Colombian to join. That’s a major push for the attacking star.
It’s assumed that the Saudi Pro League team has a massive transfer budget. They could therefore spend up to 130 million euros on Diaz. However, there has been no direct contact with FC Bayern yet; Al-Hilal first wants to gauge whether the player is even interested in a transfer.

Even if it turns out that Diaz is considering a move to Saudi Arabia, it remains to be seen how FC Bayern will react. Such a large sum for a player of his age is, of course, tempting, but at the same time, it must be noted that a replacement would then have to be signed.
And the market for offensive players is already very heated right now. There are candidates, but none of them would come cheap. For now, it’s still just a dream for Al-Hilal to pull off this transfer, and until the player gives the green light, the issue isn’t particularly pressing.
