Bayern will celebrate their 35th Bundesliga title in Munich city centre on Sunday, with festivities on Marienplatz. BILD and Radio Arabella report that the title party is scheduled for 17 May.

Vincent Kompany’s side will first receive the Meisterschale at the Allianz Arena on 16 May, after facing 1.FC Köln on Matchday 34.

The following day the squad will head to the town hall to be welcomed by Munich’s new mayor, Dominik Krause, before presenting the trophy from the balcony to fans in Marienplatz.

After the on-pitch presentation, complete with the traditional beer showers, festivities are set to continue internally.

A large team party with invited guests is planned at the Paulaner brewery on Nockherberg, where players, coaching staff and management intend to celebrate the successful season together.

Bayern’s recent restraint after the Stuttgart game had a clear motive. The club did not want any lapse in focus during decisive weeks, with the treble dream still alive.

Should Bayern also succeed in the DFB Pokal and the Champions League, there could be another major celebration to welcome what would be an unprecedented treble.
