11 games down in the Pro League as domestic football returned to Belgian stadiums this past week. Dender remain winless and look almost certain to finish in the bottom four at least, although relegation is by no means guaranteed this season.

Friday night action: The game that took all weekend to finish

With 90 minutes on the clock on Friday evening, Standard Liege were 1-0 up at home to Antwerp, although also down to 10 men. A fan then threw a beer cup at the referee, who immediately suspended the game. The final few minutes were played on Monday, with Rafiki Said’s first minute goal remaining the only one of the game.

Saturday’s action: Top two both win to remain the leading sides in the Pro League

Saturday started with a 0-0 draw between RAAL La Louviere and Westerlo. RAAL have now gone three games without conceding, with four clean sheets in their last five games. They have drawn each of their previous three games 0-0 and may be slightly concerned at their inability to score. However, if they can find a solution there, the defence looks well set to give them chances to win.

Club Brugge prepared for a clash with Bayern Munich with an away trip to OH Leuven. It took until the 77th minute for them to break the deadlock, with Christos Tzolis finding the net. However, managerless OH Leuven forced Nordin Jackers into a number of saves and will be frustrated they weren’t able to find the net with any of their 17 shots.

David Hubert left OH Leuven for Union St Gilloise and got off to a winning start at home to Charleroi. Goals from Raul Florucz, Ousseynou Niang and Mathias Rasmussen was enough for the side to grab another win, although the Zebras had been level just before half-time thanks to defender Aiham Ousou.

Sunday’s action: Goals aplenty across the Pro League

Cercle Brugge and Genk played out an entertaining 2-2 draw on Sunday lunchtime. Genk twice took the lead through Patrik Hrosovsky and Hyun-Gyu Oh, only to be pegged back by Alan Minda and Edan Diop. Cercle remain winless six games but can take heart from a positive performance against Genk.

Dender remain winless in the Pro League after a 3-1 home defeat to KV Mechelen. The hosts had plenty of chances, ending the game with 19 shots and an xG of 2.89. However, their 97th minute goal was a mere consolation after goals from Mory Konate, Myron van Brederode and Lion Lauberbach.

Sint Truiden and Anderlecht played out the second entertaining 2-2 draw on Sunday. U17 World Cup bound Nathan De Cat gave the Mauves the lead, with young striker Mihajlo Cvetkovic making it 2-1 after Rihito Yamamoto had equalised for the Canaries. Kaito Matsuzawa made it 2-2 late on, with the game ending a stalemate.

Zutle Waregem demolished Gent in the final game of the weekend. The side are in great form and it was their Danish star Jeppe Erenbjerg who made the difference. The winger scored twice, with Thomas Claes and Benoit Nyssen also finding then net. Omri Gandelman did get one back for Gent but it was a disappointing evening for the Buffaloes.
