Bellamy selects Leeds trio to start Romania friendly, Darlow benched | OneFootball

Craig Bellamy has kept Leeds trio Ethan Ampadu, Joe Rodon and Dan James in Wales’s starting XI for this evening’s friendly in Bucharest, with Karl Darlow on the bench and Danny Ward starting in goal.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Ampadu, Rodon, Darlow and James were selected for the June fixtures, and young full-back Jayden Lienou received a first senior call-up.

On Tuesday, Ampadu, Rodon, Darlow and James all started the 2-2 home draw with Ghana, while Lienou was an unused substitute.

The friendlies follow March disappointment, when captain Ampadu, Rodon, Darlow and James missed out on this summer’s competition after a penalty shootout defeat to Bosnia Herzegovina in the qualifying play-off final.

Leeds also have four players heading to the World Cup, in Brenden Aaronson for USA, Gabi Gudmundsson for Sweden, Noah Okafor for Switzerland and Ao Tanaka for Japan.

Kick-off at Stadionul Steaua is at 6.45pm, concluding Wales’s June schedule before Euro 2028 qualifying.
