Benfica are pressing on with their futsal rebuild and have identified goalkeeper Nicolas Souza as a target for 2026/27.
According to Glorioso 1904, the Brazil international, currently with Jaraguá Futsal, is viewed as a dependable option to raise competition in goal. With his contract nearing its end, a summer move could be completed without a fee.
The plan would add internal rivalry for the starting spot, with Nicolas Souza potentially challenging Léo Gugiel for the No 1 role.
The approach forms part of a broader strategy, with Benfica also pursuing Brazilian winger Cléber Souza. The club aim to refresh key positions and build a squad capable of challenging for the Champions League.
In their last outing, Benfica won 5-1 away to Caxinas in a rescheduled 18th-round fixture. Cassiano Klein’s side top the Liga Placard on 55 points, with Sporting second on 52.
