According to Turkish media, Benfica have made an offer for Galatasaray winger Yunus Akgün. The club, led by Rui Costa, is understood to have submitted the bid.
The proposal was put at 17 million euros plus 2 million in bonuses, which the Istanbul club considers insufficient. Akgün is 25.
The refusal was linked to two factors, price and regulations. Clubs in Türkiye face tighter limits on foreign signings, so retaining national players is seen as important.
President Dursun Özbek has also expressed a wish to keep the winger for many years. Elsewhere in the market, Benfica are monitoring defender Viery.
Valued at 18 million euros, Akgün made 42 appearances for Galatasaray in 2025/26, totalling 2,495 minutes. He played 29 times in the Super Lig, nine in the Champions League, three in the Turkish Cup and two in the Super Cup, scoring 10 goals with nine assists.
