According to Forbes, Benfica are ranked 23rd in the latest list of the world’s most valuable football clubs, the only Portuguese side in the top 30 and ahead of Porto and Sporting.
The report values the Lisbon club at 960 million dollars, roughly 823.3 million euros.
Being the sole Portuguese representative underscores Benfica’s international reach and financial strength, supported by on-field success, academy work and the global profile of its players.
Real Madrid lead the ranking for the fifth consecutive year on 9.5 billion dollars. Barcelona and Manchester United follow, with Champions League finalists Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal placed fifth and eighth respectively.
The list highlights the Premier League’s financial clout with 11 clubs included. Major League Soccer contributes seven, followed by Serie A with four, while the Bundesliga and La Liga each have three. In that landscape, Benfica, led by Rui Costa, remains an ambassador for Portuguese football in financial terms.
